Jesus: The Nature of God

Jesus: The Nature of God

I believe that when Jesus was on this earth, that He was displaying the heart and character of God in everything that He said and did.

He healed the sick. He raised the dead. He calmed the storm and He fed the hungry.

Jesus said “He that has seen me has seen the Father” and He also said “I came to do the Father’s will”.

Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power, who went about doing GOOD, and healing ALL that were oppressed by the DEVIL, for God was with Him”.

This passage clearly shows who makes us sick and who makes us well. Satan is called the oppressor.

While God allows and permits us to be sick, I do not believe that He is the cause of sickness. No one ever got sick until sin and Satan showed up, and once those two are put away for good, no one will ever get sick again.

Something that baffles and puzzles me: Why is the healing power of God not in manifestation today? Why are Saints so sick? We are told to pray for the sick in James 5:14-15.

I used to believe that God had given me the gift of healing until I looked at my track record! Not too good. Could it be that healing was just in certain dispensations? Was healing just for certain “time slots”? God made a healing covenant with Israel in Exodus 15:26 and with the apostolic church in James 5:14, but I sure don’t see many Saints getting healed today. I am talking about Divine healing through prayer with no doctors or medicine involved. I would love to see the healing power of God working in the church today as it did in the Early Church.
