Papa Giorgio, thank you for sharing such a personal matter relating to your Dad's journey through his illnes. Divine healing can be a complicated subject. My mom died at sixty-one after a two-year terminal illness. She was one of those quiet non-opinionated ladies who did nothing for herself....but served husband and three daughters with every ounce of her being. She began symptoms of Parkinsons and was given a medication by the neurologist treating her. He severly overdosed her with the medication which quickly caused permanent vascular damage. She was at home with 24/7 nursing care. She and my dad, still sweetheart at forty-two years of marriage, were trusting God to sustain them through the trial. Mother submitted herself to everything mentioned in scripture....anointing with oil, prayer of faith, and so forth. But there were no physical improvements. She could not speak so she spelled out her words on an alphabet page. Daddy came into her home/hospital room every morning before leaving for work....for a 'matching' tie check. Church friends and family would come to visit....to cheer her. But the 'cheering' was always done by her. Subsequently, the time came that the doctors could do nothing and instructed daddy and us daughters that our time with her was short. She moved from death to Life with God quickly on January 7th after a wonderful family Christmas. Our hearts were broken, but sadly glad, that she had finished her 'journey' here. Some fifteen years earlier, just after they moved into the newly built home where she died....God gave her a vision showing her that He would come for her, personally, there at that home. When she shared it with us, just weeks after they moved into the new home, I was so awestruct. I said to her, "Mother, it will happen just as He has shown you." Just weeks before she died, I discussed with her the vision. Her eyes brightened....and a slight smile managed to show itself at one side of her mouth. I reminded her again that it would be just as she had been shown. When the time came, she would be taken, fearlessly, to the city of God. Her brown eyes opened wide with excitment. She simply nodded her head to affirm a big 'YES.'

After she was gone, we had time to look back at all the blessings received during her illness. A nursing agency opened locally, just to care for her. Daddy's ministerial insurance covered her sufficiently to pay the agency enough to operate. They added other patients and were able to serve even more ill patients. The healing we all hoped for had come. We didn't recognize it because it was not physical. Her spirit was healed. She had perfect peace and joy throughout the ordeal. Her body was broken but her heart and mind were whole. She knew, like Paul, that if there was 'hope of this world only'....we would be so miserable. Word of Faith practices for physical healings in all situation...shortcircuits the purpose of God in finding 'strength' in 'weakness.'

For years now, I have not been able to pray for physical healings. I only pray 'thy will be done.' I have a daughter, 23, who has an insulin pump after being diagnosed at age ten with Type 1 diabetes mellitus (juvenile diabetes). God has shown me that physical healing is still available to us, from Him, today. But it is not now...now was it at the time of Christ on earth......the priority. Subsequently, I have given my sweet daughter to him. His compassion is so much greater than mine. He knows her heart....her suffering....her needs. I don't. What more could I do for my daughter. Why would I trust her immense needs to Word of Faith doctrine when I can give her into the hand of the living God...directly!

I think we likely would be SHOCKED if we understood how little God needs us in order for his purposes to be accomplished. GOD RULES! Daniel 4:17 reveals God giving Nebuchadnezzar a 'who rules' lesson in Babylon. God truly 'rules in the kingdom of men.' It is indeed false doctrine for the Clay to usurp the authority of the Potter.

I am just simply so encouraged to see the ministry all of you have in clearing the cobwebs connected to Word of Faith doctrine. The doctrine is so widespread it seemingly has become the 'life' of the apostate church.
